About CALDROP
The story behind
CALDROP
Built from real life, for real life.
Why I built CALDROP
I built CALDROP because I needed it.
I wanted to lose weight, but I didn't want to give up going out, having a few drinks with friends, or enjoying my social life.
Most apps made it feel like I had to choose.
Be healthy or have a life.
I didn't think it had to be that way.
So I started building CALDROP to understand the choices I was making, rather than simply being told what I could and couldn't have.
And something unexpected happened along the way.
As I learned more about alcohol and just how many calories I was actually consuming, I started asking myself a simple question:
Is that drink really worth it?
The more I understood, the less appealing drinking became.
While building CALDROP and losing a significant amount of weight myself, I gradually stopped drinking altogether. What started as an attempt to understand my calories and lose weight ended up completely changing my relationship with alcohol.
Today, I'm sober.
Not because CALDROP told me I had to stop drinking. I simply learned enough to make a different choice for myself.
And along the way, we've had beta testers using CALDROP too. Seeing other people use it, learn from it and make changes in their own lives has been one of the most rewarding parts of building it.
That's what CALDROP is really about.
Understanding the impact of your choices without the guilt, so you can decide what matters to you.
CALDROP will always be heavily focused on calories and alcohol, because that's where this journey started for me.
And I genuinely believe it can help other people too, because it helped me, and I've already seen it help others along the way.
It's the app I wish I had when I started this journey.
Now I'm building it for you.
